(Spoiler alert: Do not read on if you have not yet seen the series finale of NBC’s “Parenthood” entitled “May God Bless and Keep You Always.”)

In true “Parenthood” fashion, the NBC dramedy said farewell with a few laughs and plenty of tears. The most engrossing family drama in recent years really resonated with its hardcore base of fans, who showed up in droves to say goodbye.

They also took to social media, posting on Facebook and sending the Twitter hashtag #BravermanForever to the top of the rankings throughout the night on Thursday.

It was a fitting farewell for an unassuming show that was never flashy and never melodramatic. The struggles of the Braverman family were the struggles of all families, as told through Craig T. Nelson’s Zeek, his wife Camille (Bonnie Bedelia), and all of their children.

The story of an extended family that comes together as families are supposed to, it’s no wonder that so many real families and real people grew to feel connected with the Bravermans over six years.

So when it was time to say goodbye, everyone made time for one last visit to the Braverman house. And while the Bravermans said goodbye — and for Zeek, it was a final farewell — the memories of time spent with them lives on forever.
