Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga Are Retro Ghostbusters in ‘The Conjuring’ Trailer (Video)

Warner Bros. debuts a spooky new trailer for James Wan's latest American horror story, "The Conjuring"

Before "Ghostbusters" Peter, Ray and Egon came along in the '80s, there was Ed and Lorraine Warren, a real-life pair of paranormal investigators being portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in this summer's "The Conjuring."

The newest trailer for the next American horror story from "Saw" creator James Wan focuses on the married couple — who founded the New England Society for Psychic Research in 1952 and then rose to fame for investigating the Amityville haunting in the '70s — taking on their toughest case yet.

According to Warner Bros.' based-on-a-true-story marketing strategy, this New England haunting, which manifests in theaters on July 19, was "so disturbing, they've kept it locked away — until now."

"You have a lot of spirits in here," Farmiga tells an unlucky family being terrified by a ghoul in dirty nightgown. "But there is one that I'm most worried about because it is so hateful."
