“Ghostbusters” director Paul Feig is in advanced talks to direct Mindy Kaling in an untitled comedy, TheWrap has learned.

Fox 2000 is financing the untitled comedy which is set in the world of late-night talk shows and is described as being in the vein of “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Broadcast News.” Kaling wrote the script for the film.

Emma Thompson will co-star in the untitled comedy.

Scott Rudin will produce the film with Kaling, Howard Klein, and Jesse Henderson.

Feig is best known for his comedies centered on female leads including “Bridesmaids,” “The Heat,” and “Spy” — and he directed last summer’s all female reboot of “Ghostbusters” for Sony.

Kaling is best known for her work as the creator of the Fox-Hulu sitcom “The Mindy Project” and her supporting role on NBC’s “The Office.”

“The Mindy Project” began airing in 2012 on Fox. After it was canceled by the broadcast network after three seasons, it was picked up by Hulu, where it is currently airing its fifth season.

Kaling is currently filming “Ocean’s Eleven” spinoff “Ocean’s Eight” and is also part of the cast of Ava DuVernay’s “A Wrinkle in Time” remake. She is represented by CAA and 3 Arts.

Feig is repped by CAA.

Variety first reported the news about Feig.
