Under the two-year deal, Paul Giamatti and his partner Dan Carey will try to develop cable projects
Paul Giamatti's production company, Touchy Feely Films, has entered a two-year first look deal with FX Productions, the company said Wednesday.
Under the deal, Giamatti and his Touchy Feely partner Dan Carey will seek to develop projects exclusively for cable TV.
Touchy Feely is currently producing a currently untitled film that will star Giamatti, Paul Rudd and Sally Hawkins, with Phil Morrison directing and Melissa James Gibson writing. Previous productions for the company include the 2009 Paul Giamatti film "Cold Souls."
FX Productions produces such FX fare as "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "The League," "Louie" and "Wilfred."
“We’re thrilled Paul and Dan chose FX Productions to set up shop and we look forward to being in business with them,” Eric Schrier, executive vice president of FX Productions and head of series development for FX, said. “Their ideas and sensibilities fall squarely in line with the type of projects we’re looking to produce. They are a terrific addition to our growing roster of producers under the FXP banner.”
The Touchy Feely deal comes shortly after FX Productions entered an agreement with "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and "The Hunger Games" producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson's Color Force production company.
