Paul Rudd Suits Up as ‘Ant-Man’ in First Look at Marvel’s Newest, Tiniest Hero (Photo)

The Peyton Reed-directed film will be released on July 17

Paul Rudd goes from Scott Lang, con man, to “Ant-Man,” superhero and eventual Avenger, in the latest image released from Marvel’s eponymous forthcoming comic book adaptation.

Rudd is seen suited up as his teeny-tiny alter-ego on the cover of the latest EW, appearing, appropriately enough, under a magnifying glass.

In “Ant-Man,” Rudd plays Scott Lang, a swindler turned superhero. Michael Douglas co-stars in the July 17 release as Lang’s mentor and original Ant-Man, Dr. Henry Pym.

The movie will follow Rudd’s character as he embraces his heroic side to help Pym protect the secret of his Ant-Man suit, which gives the wearer the ability to shrink in size while increasing strength.

Director Peyton Reed replaced Edgar Wright, who exited the project due to creative differences with the Disney-owned studio.

Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Judy Greer, John Slattery and rapper T.I. also have roles in the highly-anticipated Marvel movie.

See the first photo of Rudd suited up below, ahead of the first trailer being released Tuesday during ABC’s “Agent Carter” premiere.
