“The Fast and the Furious” star's namesake spoke to media about the loss of his son in a car accident on Saturday
“The Fast and the Furious” star Paul Walker‘s father expressed his immense grief over his son's sudden death on Saturday.
“I'm just glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him. And he said the same thing to me,” Paul Walker Sr. told CBS2 in Los Angeles on Sunday.
“His heart was so big,” Walker Sr. also said, “I was proud of him every day of his life.”
Named after his father, Walker was raised by his parents alongside four siblings in Sunland, Calif.
“You can't beat friends at a time like this,” said Walker Sr., as friends and relatives gathered at the family home. “His brothers are all taking it pretty hard.”
The actor is also survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow.
Walker was killed in a fiery car crash in Valencia, a suburb north of Los Angeles. The driver, racecar driver and business partner Roger Rodas, also died in the accident.
An investigation is ongoing as to the cause of the accident with coroners saying that autopsies on the two bodies may happen on Tuesday.
