‘Vampire Diaries’ Paul Wesley, Martin Starr Wrap Production on Indie Movie ‘Sam & Amira’

Newcomer Dina Shihabi co-stars in the film, which marks the feature directorial debut of Sean Mullin

"Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley, "Party Down" alum Martin Starr and Dina Shihabi have wrapped production on writer-director Sean Mullin's feature film "Sam & Amira."

Starr stars as Army veteran Sam, who falls into an unlikely love affair with an Iraqi immigrant named Amira (Shihabi).

Wesley co-stars as Sam’s cousin who works on Wall St. and takes Sam under his wing to help win over new clients.

Strongman's Terry Leonard produced with Matt Miller and Erich Lochner of Vanishing Angle. Executive producers include James Ponsoldt ("The Spectacular Now") and Meg Montagnino-Jarrett.

"Sam & Amira" marks Mullin's feature film debut after a string of award-winning shorts.

No release date has been scheduled, as post-production is just beginning.

Project is notable in that it serves as a dramatic showcase for Starr, who is best known for his comedic turns on Starz's "Party Down" and NBC's "Freaks and Geeks," as well as Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up."
