‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday’ Gets Netflix Premiere Date, First Teaser Trailer (Video)

Paul Reubens reprises iconic character for new original film

Mark your Netflix-centric calendars: “Pee-wee’s Big Holiday” will premiere on March 18, 2016.

The new film stars the beloved fun-loving hero of TV, stage and film, Pee-wee Herman (Paul Reubens). In the movie, a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday.

The film stars Joe Manganiello, Jessica Pohly, Alia Shawkat and Stephanie Beatriz and was directed by John Lee. Reubens and Paul Rust wrote the film, which was produced by Reubens and Judd Apatow.

“Pee-wee’s Big Holiday” is set to premiere at this year’s SXSW festival, which takes place March 11-20 in Austin, Tex.

Reubens has spent the last several years preparing for Pee-wee’s comeback; the character appeared opposite Andy Samberg in a “Saturday Night Live” sketch in 2011.
