Pellicano Mess Lands John McTiernan in Jail

“Die Hard” director sentenced to an year and a $100,000 fine for lying to the feds; judge lets him post bail pending appeal

John McTiernan is going to jail … until he isn't.

A Los Angeles federal judge sentenced the director of "Die Hard," "Predator" and "Rollerball" to a year and prison and a $100,000 fine for lying to an FBI agent and the court.

U.S. District Court Judge Dale Fischer will, however, allow McTiernan to post bail, pending appeal.

McTiernan was convicted of lying to the feds during questing over his involvement with private investigator Anthony Pellicano, who was convicted himself two years ago of 76 wiretapping counts.

McTiernan was a former Pellicano client.
