PewDiePie, Epic Meal Time Among First Batch of Streamy Award Winners

The Young Turks and Video Game High School also claim online video awards

Tubefilter, dick clark productions and VH1 announced the 35 winners from the official Streamy Awards Nominee Reception on Monday.

YouTube star PewDiePie and online cooking show Epic Meal Time were among the winners announced for the annual awards show, which celebrates the best creators of online video. Hosts for the nominee reception, Chelsea Briggs and GloZell Green, welcomed the winners to the stage at the YouTube Space LA in Playa Vista, California.

Nine additional categories, including Beauty, Comedy, First Person, Kids and Family and Viner as well as the two Audience Choice categories – Entertainer of the Year and Show of the Year – will be announced at the ceremony.

The live broadcast of the 5th Annual Streamy Awards will be hosted by Grace Helbig and Tyler Oakley and feature musical performances by A Great Big World ft. Futuristic, Future, OMI, Sir Mix-A-Lot and Hailee Steinfeld.

Paula Abdul, Sean Kingston, NeNe Leakes and James Van Der Beek are among the presenters, and there will be a special appearance by Miranda Sings.

The Streamy Awards will air live on Sept. 17 at 10pm/9c on VH1 and its digital platforms.
