PG-13 Rated ‘King’s Speech’ Gets April 1 Release

Weinstein Company calls the altered version “family friendly”

The Weinstein Company announced Thursday that the PG-13 version of "The King's Speech" will on open on 1,000 screens nationwide on April 1.  It will be the only version of the Best Picture winner available in theatres.

To get the new rating, the filmmakers reportedly altered a scene where King George VI uses "f**k" multiple times.

The Weinstein Company says the new rating will allow families to see the film.
