The fast foot chain bought the Vivienne Westwood headwear that the “Happy” singer wore to the awards show in January
Arby's asked for its hat back when Pharrell Williams wore a big, brown buffalo hat to the Grammy Awards in January. And the fast food company revealed on Sunday that it finally got its hands on the headwear — for $44,100.
An eBay auction for the viral item ended the same day Williams performed his Oscar-nominated song “Happy,” and Arby's took all the credit on Twitter when the singer thanked the winning bidder for making a donation to his charity, From One Hand To AnOTHER.

When TheWrap asked the company about its charitable acquisition, it was unclear how the hat would be utilized.
“Arby's is still determining exactly where the hat will go next, but we're very happy to have it back,” a spokesman said. “We are looking forward to future opportunities to work with Pharrell and his foundation to raise the visibility for our shared cause of improving the lives of youth.”

Williams wore a similar hat while bringing the Oscar audience inside the Dolby Theatre to their feet during his performance of his Best Original Song nominee from the “Despicable Me 2” soundtrack. Though the hat he wore at the 86th annual Academy Awards was black.
