Piers Morgan Gets an Apology From Parliament MP

Louise Mensch, who suggested Morgan knew of phone hacking, says she misread an article

While Piers Morgan's name has not been cleared in terms of phone hacking, one of his accusers has apologized.

Louise Mensch is the MP who, during the hearings of Rupert and James Murdoch, as well as Rebekah Brooks, said Morgan had not just known about phone hacking, but participated in it.

According to the Guardian, She has recanted that statement in a written letter to John Whittingdale, the chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee.

At the Parliament hearing, Mensch referenced an excerpt from Morgan's own book, "The Insider," as Morgan-accuser and British political blogger Paul Staines has done. In her apology, she said she had misread a July 13 article in the Daily Telegraph about the allegations.

Morgan responded on Twitter: "Apology graciously accepted @LouiseMensch – thank you."
