Jack Sparrow, as usual, will be in pretty serious trouble when “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” hits theaters on May 26 next year.
Disney released the first teaser trailer for the fifth film in the franchise, and it features a ghostly pirate named Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem, telling an imprisoned young man (Brenton Thwaites) to deliver a message: “Tell him death will go straight for him.”
Johnny Depp reprises his role as Sparrow in the next adventure, directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (“Kon-Tiki”), in which he’ll be searching for the trident of Poseidon. Orlando Bloom also returns as swashbuckler Will Turner, but “Pirates” fans will have to wait for the first full trailer to see him in action.
For now, viewers are treated to some pretty cool visuals and an introduction to one of the franchise’s most menacing villains yet.
