‘Pit Bulls & Parolees’: What Happens to the Rescue When Tia Is Hospitalized? (Exclusive Video)

These dogs aren’t going to save themselves (especially the helpless, adorable, little teeny-tiny puppies)

Dogs are man’s best friend, and Tia Torres is definitely their’s.

So what happens when the “Pit Bulls & Parolees” matriarch goes down with a devastating injury? Well, her kids and a bunch of ex-cons are called upon to keep the Villalobos rescue up and running.

Tia actually breaks her leg in a somewhat silly manner — viewers will have to tune-in to the Season 8 premiere on Animal Planet to find out exactly what happened — but her mission is no laughing matter. She’s also not thinking about herself on the series’ Nov. 12 return, despite requiring emergency surgery.

“My biggest fear is not being able to rescue a dog,” Tia says in the above preview clip, which is exclusive to TheWrap. That doesn’t appear to be a problem, however, even for the hobbled animal lover and her rag-tag team.

Much like the dog rescue game itself, the ninth season of the Animal Planet reality series will not be for the faint of heart. Viewers will experience the devastating Louisiana floods firsthand, and see Tia and the gang fight to reunite families with their lost pets.

Watch the Season 8 teaser above, and then go adopt a furry BFF of your own at a local animal shelter.

“Pit Bulls & Parolees” is produced by 44 Blue Productions and Rive Gauche Television. Rasha Drachkovitch, Billy Cooper and Dave Luce are the executive producers for 44 Blue Productions. For Animal Planet, Lisa Lucas is the executive producer and Patrick Keegan is producer.

The Season 8 premiere of “Pit Bulls & Parolees” airs Nov. 12 at 9/8c on Animal Planet.
