“Pitch Perfect 3” has been bumped from July 21, 2017 to Dec. 22, 2017, Universal announced Tuesday.

In May, the third film in the franchise was moved from an August release to May, but will now debut just before Christmas. Other movies slated for release that date are Mark Wahlberg‘s “The Six Billion Dollar Man” and “The Croods 2.”

The move clears the path for Tom Hardy‘s “Dunkirk” and Dane DeHaan‘s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” which both open on July 21.

Universal’s “Girl Trip” will also take the place of “Pitch Perfect 3,” moving from Aug. 11, 2017 to the July 21 date.

“Pitch Perfect 3” stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow, with Elizabeth Banks directing.

“Pitch Perfect 2” boasts the highest-grossing movie musical opening of all time, and its follow-up will be produced by series fixtures Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment and Max Handelman and Banks.

“Pitch Perfect 2” has grossed more than $250 million worldwide — more than double the original’s $115 million gross — which indicates growing interest in the female-driven franchise.

“Girl Trip” will be produced by Will Packer, with Malcolm D. Lee directing. The film follows four lifelong friends who travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival.
