Obama Slams Kim Kardashian, Kanye West for Skewing Kids’ Definition of Success

The Commander-in-Chief discusses the over-inflated value we place on Kimye, talks jobs and economy in Kindle Singles interview

Amazon.com recently announced an exclusive in-depth interview with President Barack Obama, which will be free for all customers.

The conversation with Kindle Singles editor David Blum focused on the economy, jobs and culture shifts which have up-ended the American Dream as we once knew it.

"There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous," the President said.

He continued, "Kids weren't monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success."

President Obama also opined on what he might be doing if this whole political thing hadn't worked out for him:

"I could picture myself being a good teacher," he said.

The Kindle Singles Interview is a new series offering major long-form interviews with iconic figures and world leaders, Amazon said. The debut Kindle Singles Interview, "The Optimist," was an interview with Shimon Peres, the 89-year-old President of Israel.
