Given Stephen Colbert's unwavering patriotism, nothing could be more appropriate than closing Monday's show with the national anthem.
Except it was Radiohead's "National Anthem." Colbert ceded almost all of his show to the band on Monday, warning audience members that it would be "a mindblowing event for the music nerds. So in the event, I have hipster paramedics standing by."
