"No Holdin' Back" singer Randy Travis also allegedly threatened to kill troopers during second alcohol-related arrest this year

Country singer Randy Travis has once again found himself in trouble with the law — and once again, alcohol appears to have been a factor.

Oh, and he was naked when officers found him. And he subsequently threatened to shoot and kill the troopers who arrested him. Despite the fact that, being naked, it's unclear where he might have been keeping his gun.

Officers from the Grayson County Sheriff's Department responded to a call shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday and discovered the 53-year-old Travis lying nude in the roadway, with his 1998 Pontiac Trans Am nearby after driving off the road.

Travis — who refused a breathalyzer test — was initially arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, but police tacked on a charge for retaliation, after he allegedly threatened to "shoot and kill the Troopers working the case," according to TMZ.

A spokesman for Travis and the Grayson County Sheriff's Department have not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.

Travis was arrested for public intoxication in February, after police in the town of Sanger, Texas, discovered him allegedly slurring and stumbling while carrying an open bottle of wine in front of a church.

The singer later apologized, explaining that he had been celebrating the Super Bowl, which had occurred the night before.

"I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl," Travis said in a statement. "I'm committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions."
