Reality Shows Send ABC to Monday Ratings Win

“Breaking Bad” finale, “True Blood” return grab big numbers on cable

Fast national ratings numbers are in and ABC won Monday night for the second week in a row averaging a 2.3 rating/7 share in the key adults 18-49 demo.

EASY AS ABC Two new hours of "The Bachelorette" followed up by "True Beauty" gave ABC wins in every timeslot from 8-11 p.m. "Bachelorette" got an average rating of 2.6/7 and "True Beauty" scored a 1.9/5 among adults 18-49. 

ROUGH NIGHT FOR NBC The new shows on NBC scored low numbers, even against repeats. A new episode of "Last Comic Standing" from 9-10 p.m. averaged 2.2/6, losing out to both "The Bachelorette" and an hour of repeats on CBS. Just one week after its debut, the mystery drama "Persons Unknown" was beaten by "True Beauty" and CBS' repeat of "CSI: Miami" from 10-11 p.m. "Persons Unknown" had an average rating of 1.2/3.

BAD BLOOD Sunday night numbers for the cable channels are in. AMC got 1.6 million total viewers for the season-three finale of "Breaking Bad," which was up 17% from the previous season. The season-three premiere of "True Blood" on HBO got 5.1 million viewers, up 38 percent from the start of the second season.
