Ratings: ABC’s One-Two Punch – ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘GCB’ Premiere

“Once Upon a Time” is top show and “GCB” premieres solidly to pace ABC to Sunday night ratings victory

ABC took a ratings win Sunday night, according to preliminary numbers, with the premiere of the network's drama "GCB" drawing encouraging numbers and "Once Upon a Time" continuing to perform strongly.

Taking the top ratings spot with an average 2.6 rating/7 share in the adults 18-49 demographic and coming in second in total viewers with an average 8.6 million, ABC began the night with "America's Funniest Home Videos" at 7, which drew a 2.2/6 in the demo and 8 million total viewers. "Once Upon a Time" the following hour posted a 3.4/9 in the demo — the night's highest individual performance — and 10.6 million total viewers. "Desperate Housewives" at 9 took a 2.5/6 in the demo and 8.2 million total viewers, while the "GCB" premiere at 19 received a 2.2/6 in the demo and 7.6 million total viewers.

Coming in second in the ratings with an average 2.1/6 in the demo and first in total viewers with an average 10.4 million, CBS' night began with "60 Minutes" at 7, which drew a 1.6/5 in the demo and 11.5 million total viewers. "The Amazing Race" at 8 took a 2.8/7 in the demo and 10.4 million total viewers, while "The Good Wife" the following hour posted a 1.8/4 in the demo and 9.7 million total viewers. The night closed with "CSI: Miami" at 10, which drew a 2.0/5 in the demo and 10 million total viewers.

Fox, in third place in the demo with an average 2.0/5 and fourth in total viewers with an average 4 million, ran a "Bob's Burgers" repeat at 7, followed by "The Cleveland Show" at 7:30, which posted a 1.6/4 in the demo and 3.2 million total viewers. "The Simpsons" at 8 drew a 2.5/7 in the demo and 5.2 million total viewers, while "Napoleon Dynamite" at 8:30 received a 2.0/5 in the demo and 4 million total viewers. At 9, "Family Guy" received a 2.8/7 in the demo and 5.3 million total viewers, while "American Dad" at 9:30 posted a 2.1/5 in the demo and 4.3 million total viewers.

NBC came in fourth in ratings with an average 1.7/4 in the demo and third in total viewers with an average 5.5 million. "Dateline: NBC" at 7 drew a 1.0/3 in the demo and 5 million total viewers. A "Celebrity Apprentice" repeat at 8 was followed by a new episode of the series from 9 to 11, which posted a 2.3/6 in the demo and 6.6 million total viewers.
