Ratings: ABC’s ‘Suburgatory,’ ‘Super Fun Night’ Hit Lows as Fox’s ‘Idol’ Reigns

“American Idol” ticks down a bit, still hands network an easy win

Fox topped Wednesday with “American Idol,” which almost surely helped hand lows to ABC’s “Suburgatory” and “Super Fun Night.” NBC’s “Revolution” also tied a low.

Fox was first in ratings with a 3.8 rating/10 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in total viewers with an average of 12.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Idol” was the only show on the network’s schedule.

NBC was second in ratings with a 1.6/4 and third in total viewers with 6.5 million. “Revolution” at 8 p.m. got a 1.3/4, tying a series low, and 5.1 million viewers. “Law & Order: SVU” earned a 1.9/5 and 7.5 million viewers at 9. At 10, “Chicago P.D.” received a 1.7/5 and 6.9 million viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 1.5/4 and fourth in total viewers with 5.2 million viewers. In between reruns, “Suburgatory” at 8:30 had a 1.5/4, tying a series low, and 5.1 million viewers. “Super Fun Night” at 9:30 was the next new show on the schedule, which got a 1.3/3 — down 24 percent to a new low — and 3.9 million viewers. “Nashville” at 10 received a 1.5/4 and 5.2 million viewers.

CBS was in fourth in ratings with a 1.4/4 and second in total viewers with 7.5 million. At 8, “Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials ’14” earned a 1.9/5 and 9.5 million viewers. Reruns followed.

Univision was in fifth in ratings with a 1.3/4 and in viewers with 3.2 million.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.8/2 and in total viewers with 2.2 million. “Arrow” at 8 earned a 1.0/3 and 2.7 million viewers. “The Tomorrow People” at 9 received a 0.6/2 and 1.6 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.6/1 and in total viewers with 1.4 million.
