The Academy of Country Music Awards drew the No. 1 spot on Sunday night, while 'Dateline' saw a 67 percent jump in the ratings, according to preliminary numbers.
The ACM Awards on CBS from 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. grabbed 3.3 rating/9 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, which not only gave the presentation the best ratings of the evening, but represented a three percent jump from last year's broadcast on April 18, 2010.
Overall, the awards broadcast garnered 12.9 million total viewers. CBS began the prime-time roster with "60 Minutes," which drew a 1.5/5 in the demo and 10.2 million total viewers, a drop from last week's numbers, when the network's roster included NCAA championships coverage.
The lack of NCAA coverage was also good news for NBC, which showed a big jump for "Dateline' at 7, with a 1.0/3 in the demo and 5.1 million total viewers.
That's a major improvement over last week's 0.6/2 and 3.5 million total viewers. At 8, "America's Next Great Restaurant" drew a 1.4/4 in the demo, up from last week's 1.3/4. Last night's episode drew 3.9 million total viewers. "Celebrity Apprentice" from 9 to 11 was flat compared to last week, with a 3.0/8 in the demo and 8.4 million total viewers.
At ABC, "America's Funniest Home Videos" at 7 was flat with last week, with a 1.6/5 in the demo and 6.5 million total viewers, while "Secret Millionaire" the following hour drew a 2.6/7 in the demo, with 9.7 million total viewers. "Desperate Housewives" at 9 grabbed a 2.8/7 in the demo and 8.8 million total viewers, while "Body of Proof" had a 2.0/5 in the demo, with 8.4 million total viewers.
Fox's Sunday night lineup comprised mainly repeats from its Animation Domination block, with a repeat of "The Simpsons" at 7 drawing a 1.1/4 in the demo and 2.7 million total viewers, a new "American Dad" at 7:30 garnering a 1.6/5 in the demo and 3.5 million total viewers,. A "Simpsons" rerun at 8 pulled a 1.9/6 in the demo and 4.5 million total viewers, while a repeat of "Bob's Burgers" at 8:30 grabbed a 1.7/5 in the demo and 3.8 million total viewers. A "Family Guy" repeat at 9 garnered a 2.2/6 in the demo and 4.8 million total viewers, and a new episode of "The Cleveland Show" at 9:30 took in a 2.2/5 in the demo, with 4.8 million total viewers.
