CBS's "Big Bang Theory" inched up in the ratings and took the night's top spot, helping to push the network to an overall win Thursday night, according to preliminary numbers.
CBS took a decisive first place in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic with a 3.4 rating/10 share and in total viewers with 13.3 million, with its primetime slate enjoying marginal growth across the board. "The Big Bang Theory" at 8 p.m. inched up to a 5.4/17, the night's best performance in the demo, and was also the night's most-watched program with 16.8 million total viewers. "Two and a Half Men" at 8:30 had a 4.2/12 with 13.6 million total viewers, while "Person of Interest" at 9 ticked up to 3.0/8 and took 14.2 million total viewers. "Elementary" at 10 climbed 10 percent to a 2.3/6 and had 10.6 million total viewers.
ABC came in a distant second in ratings and total viewers with a 2.3/6 and 7.4 million. While the network's numbers are skewed slightly due to NFL preemption in Philadelphia, "Last Resort" at 8 ran even with last week for a 1.2/3 and drew 6.5 million total viewers, while "Grey's Anatomy" the following hour inched up to a 3.1/8 and took 8.8 million total viewers. "Scandal" at 10 grew 8 percent, taking a 2.7/7 with 7.8 million total viewers.
Fox came in third in ratings and total viewers with a 2.2/6 and 6.5 million. Both "The X Factor" at 8 and "Glee" at 9 took minor hits, with "The X Factor" drawing a 2.4/7 and 7.7 million total viewers and "Glee" posting a 2.0/5 with 5.3 million total viewers.
Univision came in fourth in ratings and total viewers with a 1.8/5 and 4.2 million.
NBC took fifth place in ratings and total viewers, posting a 1.0/3 and 3.4 million. "Up All Night" at 8 fell 25 percent for a series low of 0.9/3 and had 2.9 million total viewers, while a second episode at 8:30 was down 8 percent from last week with a 1.1/3 and drew 2.6 million total viewers. At 9, Howie Mandel's "Take it All" had a 1.2/3 and 3.9 million total viewers. "Rock Center With Brian Williams" at 10 dropped off 10 percent from last week with a 0.9/2 and had 3.4 million total viewers.
