CBS' "Big Brother" took the evening's top ratings slot with a modest increase over last week's performance, but Fox won the night overall thanks to the strength of its two-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" Top 4 performance episode, according to preliminary numbers.
"Big Brother" at 8 p.m., as usual, took the top ratings position for the night, growing 8 percent over last week with a 2.7 rating/9 share in the adults 18-49 demographic and 7.2 million total viewers.
The network ran repeats throughout the rest of its primetime programming.
At Fox, "SYTYCD" from 8 to 10 also received a slight bump, climbing 6 percent in the demo and 4 percent in viewership, with a 1.9/6 and 5.8 million total viewers. Though only the third-highest rated show, that was sufficient to hand Fox the overall win for the night with a 1.9/6 in the demo.
NBC's "America's Got Talent" took the night's number 2 slot of the night, despite slipping 4 percent to a summer low of 2.4/7 in the demo and 9.3 million total viewers. The network received encouraging news with the remainder of its primetime roster, with "Minute to Win It" at 8 growing 9 percent for a 1.2/4 in the demo and 4.8 million total viewers; and the recently launched reality competition "Love in the Wild" closing out the night at 10 with a 7 percent bump, taking a 1.5/4 in the demo and 4.6 million total viewers.
ABC ran repeats throughout the night, with the exception of "Primetime Nightline" at 10, which ran flat with last week's performance for a 1.3/4 in the demo and 4.1 million total viewers.
