RATINGS: ‘The Blind Side’ Scores for ABC

Quickie “20/20” special is the No. 1 show of the night with viewers under 50

"The Blind Side" is a hit on TV, too.

ABC’s hastily assembled special edition of "20/20" devoted to the "real" story behind the hit movie was easily the most-watched hour on broadcast TV Tuesday night among adults 18-49.

Featuring the star wattage of Sandra Bullock, "20/20" averaged a 2.2/6 at 10 p.m. That’s double what a "Jay Leno Show" (0.9/3) repeat earned, and ahead of the second hour of CBS’s "Kennedy Center Honors" (1.5/4).

Among all viewers, the hour drew just under 8 million folks, a bit less than the KenCen special.

We’re looking forward to NBC’s "Dateline: Avatar" two-hour edition next month, as well as the special squeakquel-themed "48 Hours: What Did Alvin Know?" on CBS.

And yes, we penned that last sentence just so we could write "squeakquel." Squeakquel! It may be our favorite new word of 2009!

Not that marketing has any impact on TV MoJoe.
