Ratings: ‘CMA Music Festival’ Wins Night for ABC in Spite of ‘Under the Dome’

CBS settles for second as "UTD" is highest-rated and most-watched on the night

Despite "Under the Dome" being the evening's highest-rated and most-watched program, CBS's lineup was no match for the "CMA Music Festival" special on ABC.

ABC was first in ratings with a 2.0 rating/6 share in the advertiser-desired 18-49 demographic and first in total viewers with an average of 8.2 million, according to preliminary numbers. The network aired the "CMA Music Festival" from 8 p.m. to 11. It increased by 33 percent from last year.

CBS was second in ratings with a 1.4/4 and in total viewers with 6.1 million. Following reruns, "Under the Dome" at 10 earned a 2.3/7 and 10.1 million viewers, making it the highest-rated and most-watched program of the night. The Time Warner Cable blackout in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas continued.

Univision was third in ratings with a 1.3/4 and fourth in total viewers with 3.4 million viewers.

NBC was in fourth in ratings with a 1.2/4 and third in total viewers with 3.5 million. "American Ninja Warrior" at 8 received a 1.6/5 and 5 million viewers. At 9, "Get Out Alive" earned a 1.4/4 and 3.7 million viewers. "Siberia" at 10 got a 0.7/2 and 1.9 million viewers.

Fox was in fifth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in viewers with 1.5 million. It aired entirely repeats.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/1 and in total viewers 1.2 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in total viewers with 609,000. After a repeat, a new "Breaking Pointe" received a 0.2/1 and 520,000 viewers.
