Ratings: ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Hits Finale Low, ‘Rudolph’ Shines

“Dancing With the Stars” had its lowest finale ever on Tuesday as “Rudolph” beat it and “The Voice.”

“DTWS” earned a 2.4 rating — down 20 percent from last fall’s finale — and had 12.8 million viewers, according to preliminary numbers. CBS’s repeat special “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” was up one-tenth to a 3.0 rating, making it the top-rated show of the night in the key 18-49 demographic.

CBS was first in the demo with a 2.5 rating/7 share and second in total viewers with an average of 11.8 million. “Rudolph” at 8 p.m. had 11.4 million viewers. “NCIS: Los Angeles” at 9 received a 2.4/6 — tying a season low — and had 12.2 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 10 got a 2.1/6 and 11.7 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 2.4/7 and first in total viewers with 12.8 million. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” at 8 earned a 2.5/7 and 9.3 million viewers. The fall finale of “Dancing With the Stars” at 9 had 14.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched telecast of the night.

NBC was third in ratings with a 2.3/7 and fourth in total viewers with 7.9 million viewers. “Biggest Loser” at 8 earned a 2.0/6 and 6.6 million. At 9, “The Voice” received a 2.9/8 — tying its lowest Tuesday rating ever — and had 10 million viewers. “Chicago Fire” at 10 got a 2.1/6 and 7 million viewers.

Fox was in fourth in ratings with a 1.5/4 and fifth in total viewers with 3.3 million. “Dads” at 8 earned a 1.2/4 — tying its low — and 3.2 million viewers. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” at 8:30 received a 1.5/4 and 3.7 million viewers. “New Girl” at 9 got a 1.9/5 and 3.5 million viewers. “The Mindy Project” at 9:30 had a 1.4/4 and 2.7 million viewers.

Univision was in fifth in ratings with a 1.3/4 and fourth in viewers with 3.4 million.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 1.1/3 and in total viewers 2.4 million. “The Originals” at 8 earned a 1.1/3 — matching a series high — and 2.3 million viewers. At 9, “Supernatural” received a 1.0/3 and 2.4 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in total viewers with 1.3 million.
