Ratings: Fox Wins Wednesday as ‘American Idol’ Ticks Up

Second-place ABC’s “Mixology” gets boost on heels of new “Modern Family”

Fox topped Wednesday as “American Idol” ticked up against the competition mixture of originals and repeats.

ABC’s “Mixology” ticked-up by 25 percent following a new “Modern Family.”

Fox was first in ratings with a 2.1 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 8.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. “American Idol” was the only show on the network’s schedule.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.7/5 and third in viewers with 5.6 million. “The Middle” at 8 p.m. got a 1.8/6 and 6.8 million viewers. “Suburgatory” at 8:30 had a 1.6/5 and 5.2 million viewers. “Modern Family” at 9 earned a night-high 3.4/10 and 9.2 million viewers. “Mixology” at 9:30 received a 1.5/4 — a 25 percent uptick — and 4.2 million viewers. A special “Nashville: On the Record” had a 1.0/3 and 4.2 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 1.5/5 and second in viewers with 7.6 million. “Survivor” at 8 earned a 2.2/7 and 9.3 million viewers — the largest audience of the night. Repeats followed.

Univision was fourth in ratings with a 1.2/4 and fifth in viewers with 2.9 million.

NBC was fifth in ratings with a 1.0/3 and fourth in total viewers with 4.1 million, airing entirely repeats.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 2.1 million. At 8, “Arrow” tied last week’s series low with a 0.7/2 and 2.2 million viewers. At 9, “The 100” ticked-up 20 percent to a 0.6/2 and 1.9 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in total viewers with 1.2 million.
