Ratings: Fox’s Greg Kinnear Drama ‘Rake’ Premieres Soft Following ‘American Idol’

Network still wins Thursday outright

Fox’s legal drama “Rake” debuted on Thursday night to mediocre numbers, despite its “American Idol” lead-in.

The Greg Kinnear vehicle earned a 1.7 rating/5 share in the demo, and had 7.1 million viewers. Despite that, Fox topped both ratings and viewers.

Fox was first in ratings with a 2.5/7 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in total viewers with an average of 9.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. At 8 p.m., “American Idol” was the highest-rated show of the night with a 3.3/10 and 12.1 million viewers.

CBS was second in ratings with a 1.9/5 and in total viewers with 8.8 million, airing entirely reruns.

Univision was third in ratings with a 1.3/4 and fifth in total viewers with 3.1 million.

ABC was in fourth in ratings with a 1.1/3 and third in total viewers with 3.9 million. “The Taste” at 8 was followed by a rerun. Both earned the same marks.

NBC was in fifth in ratings with a 1.0/3 and fourth in viewers with 3.2 million. “Community” at 8 received a 1.1/3 and 3.1 million viewers. “Parks and Recreation” at 8:30 had a 1.2/3 and 3 million viewers. “The Michael J. Fox Show” at 9 got a 0.7/2 and 2.2 million viewers. “Sean Saves the World” at 9:30 earned a 0.7/2 and 2.6 million viewers. “Parenthood” at 10 got a 1.3/4 and 4.3 million viewers.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.9/2 and in total viewers with 2.2 million. At 8, “Vampire Diaries” received a 1.1/3 and 2.7 million viewers. “Reign” at 9 had a 0.7/2 and 1.8 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/1 and in total viewers with 1.3 million.
