Ratings: ‘Glee’ Finale Hits New Low, ‘Riot’ Debuts Weak

CBS wins night with season finale lineup

Tuesday was a night of season finales, some faired well, while others, not so much.

CBS topped the night with a lineup of three season-ending episodes. Fox’s “Glee” finale, on the other hand, hit an all-time low in its spring finale. Afterwards, Fox debuted the Steve Carrell-produced “Riot,” which premiered to a low 0.5 rating.

CBS was first in ratings with a 2.3 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 14.1 million, according to preliminary numbers. All three shows on the schedule were season finales. “NCIS” at 8 p.m. had a night high 2.6/9 — marking the first that that it topped NBC’s “The Voice” in the key demo — and 16.8 million viewers. “NCIS: Los Angeles” at 9 earned a 2.5/7 and 14.8 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 10 received a 1.9/6 and 10.8 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 2.0/6 and in viewers with 8.1 million. “The Voice” at 8 earned a 2.5/9 and 10.8 million. “About a Boy” at 9 got a 1.7/5 and 6.8 million viewers. The “About a Boy” season finale followed, with a 1.5/4 and 5.8 million viewers. “Chicago Fire” at 10 had a 1.9/6 and 7.1 million viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 1.3/4 and in viewers with 3.8 million. The “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” season finale at 8 earned a 1.9/6 and 5.2 million viewers. “The Goldbergs” season-ender at 9 received a 1.4/4 and 4.1 million viewers. The “Trophy Wife” series finale at 9:30 had a 0.9/3 and 2.8 million viewers. “Celebrity Wife Swap” at 10 got a 0.9/3 and 2.8 million viewers.

Univision was fourth in ratings with a 1.0/3 and in viewers with 2.6 million.

The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.9/3 and in total viewers with 2.1 million. “The Originals” at 8 received a 0.9/3 and 2.1 million viewers. “Supernatural” at 9 had a 0.9/3 and 2.1 million viewers.

Fox was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in total viewers with 1.6 million. The “Glee” season finale at 8 hit an all-time low of a 0.6/2 and had 1.9 million viewers. The series premiere of “Riot” had a 0.5/1 and 1.3 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/1 and in total viewers with 1.2 million.
