Ratings: ‘Masterchef’ Makes Itself at Home on Wednesdays

Gordon Ramsay’s cooking competition was up five percent and led Fox to a win in its second week in a new time slot

Three of TV’s biggest reality shows– “Masterchef,” “Big Brother” and “America’s Got Talent” went up against each other Wednesday night.

Last week all three shows were bunched together on top of the ratings charts, but Fox emerged as the winner Wednesday.

SETTLING IN The two-hour episode of “Masterchef” averaged a 2.2 rating/7 share in the key adults 18-49 demographic, up five percent from the previous week. “Masterchef” moved to Wednesdays Aug. 18 after being paired with the recently concluded seventh season of Gordon Ramsay’s other cooking competition, “Hell’s Kitchen,” on Tuesdays. “Masterchef” and “Hell’s Kitchen” combined for seven straight Tuesday wins this summer prior to the switch.

RUNNER UP NBC was close behind with a 2.0/6 coming from “America’s Got Talent,” the rapid-fire game show “Minute To Win It” and a repeat of “Law & Order: SVU." "Minute To Win It" averaged 1.8/6 from 8-9 p.m., up 13 percent form last week.

BRO-MANCE CBS finished in third place, posting a 1.9/6 primetime average. CBS' lineup included "Big Brother" along with reruns of "Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY." "Big Brother was the top show of the night with a 2.8/9 average from 8-9 p.m.

REMAINDERS ABC came in last on Wednesday with a 1.1/3 average. ABC's score was less than the other major broadcast nets and Spanish-language broadcaster Univision, which posted a 1.7/5.
