Ratings: NBC Takes Night With Rising ‘Voice’

CBS takes Tuesday's highest total viewership with repeats

NBC's "The Voice" saw solid growth drove the network to a ratings win Tuesday night, while the season finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" gave a minor uptick to the show compared to last week, according to preliminary numbers.


NBC grabbed first place in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic with a 3.1 rating/9 share and second place in total viewers 8.7 million.

"The Voice" at 8 p.m. drew the night's best ratings and highest total viewership, climbing 13 percent from last week for a 4.5/14 in the demo and grabbing 13.3 million total viewers.

The new comedy "Go On" the following hour posted a 3.3/9 and attracted 9.3 million total viewers, while "The New Normal" at 9:30 took a 2.2/6 and received 6.2 million total viewers. "Parenthood" at 10 drew a 1.8/5 and took in 5 million total viewers.

Fox, which ran the "So You Think You Can Dance" finale throughout its primetime roster, took second place in ratings and fourth in total viewers with a 1.6/5 and 4.6 million. The finale saw a 7 percent boost in the demo and total viewers over last week.

CBS, which ran repeats throughout the night, tied Univision for third place in ratings but grabbed first in total viewers with an average 1.5/4 and 8.8 million. (Univision came in fifth in total viewers with 3.6 million.)

ABC took up the fifth place slot in ratings and third in total viewers with a 1.4/4 and 6.3 million. The network aired repeats aside from the "20/20" special "Best in TV: The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time With Barbara Walters" at 9, which drew a 1.6/4 and 7.4 million.
