NBC was first in ratings with a 1.9 rating/6 share in the advertiser-desired 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 6 million, according to preliminary numbers. Due to the nature of live sports, those numbers are approximate.

An NBC Sports special "Madden NFL Pigskin Pro-Am" at 7 p.m. earned a 1.3/5 and 4.2 million viewers. An NFL Preseason Game pregame show at 8 earned a 2.1/7 and 7 million viewers, while the games at 9 earned a 2.1/6 and 6.5 million viewers.
CBS was second in ratings with a 1.4/4 and first in total viewers with 6.7 million. "60 Minutes" at 7 earned a 1.1/4 and 8.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched program of the night. "Big Brother" at 8 was the highest-rated show on Sunday, earning a 2.3/7 and 7.1 million viewers. At 9, "Unforgettable" received a 1.2/3 and 6.8 million viewers. A rerun followed. The CBS/Time Warner Cable blackout cost the network viewers in several major markets.
Fox was third in ratings with a 1.2/4 and fourth in total viewers with 3 million viewers, airing entirely repeats.
ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.8/2 and third in viewers with 3.9 million. Following a rerun, "Family Dance Off" at 8 earned a 0.7/2 and 3.5 million viewers. "Secret Millionaire" at 9 received a 0.9/2 and 4 million viewers. A repeat followed.
Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in viewers with 2 million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in total viewers 1.2 million.
