Ratings: NFL Pre-Season and ‘Big Brother’ Tie for First; NBC Wins Night Overall

“20/20” jumps 23 percent with “The Sixth Sense Part 2”

The NFL preseason game between the New Orleans Saints and the Oakland Raiders drew a tie with CBS' reliable ratings earner "Big Brother" on Sunday night, while NBC's football coverage handed the network an overall win for the night, according to preliminary numbers.

The Saints vs. Raiders game on NBC at 8:30 grabbed a 2.9 rating/7 share in the adults 18-49 demographic and 8.4 million total viewers — not only tying for first in the demo but handily winning the most-watched spot for the evening. The game itself was preceded by "Madden NFL '12 Pigskin Pro-Am" at 7, which drew a 1.2/4 in the demo and 4.1 million total viewers. The pre-game show at 8 grabbed a 2.6/7 in the demo and 8.1 million total viewers. Overall, NBC's night of football gave the network an average 2.5/7 in the demo and 7.3 million total viewers.

CBS began the evening with "60 Minutes" at 7, which received a 1.0/3 in the demo and 7.9 million total viewers. The following hour, "Big Brother" was down 9 percent versus last Sunday's airing, taking a 2.9/8 in the demo and 7.7 million total viewers. The network finished the night with repeats.

Fox's evening consisted of reruns with the exception of its recently launched sketch-comedy series "In the Flow With Affion Crockett" at 9:30, which was down 9 percent compared to last week with 1.0/2 in the demo and 2 million total viewers.

ABC's night consisted mostly of repeats, save for the "20/20" special "The Sixth Sense Part 2,"' which had a 1/6.4 in the demo and 5.9 million total viewers.
