Ratings: ‘Take Me Out’ and ‘The Choice’ Down; ABC Takes Night With NBA Finals

NBC's "Saving Hope" gains in total viewers over last week's premiere

Fox's dating-show offerings "Take Me Out" and "The Choice" both slipped from their premieres, while ABC landed a decisive win Thursday night with Game 2 of the NBA Finals, according to preliminary numbers.

ABC easily took first place in ratings and total viewers, averaging a 4.9 rating/18 share in the advertiser-beloved 18-49 demographic and drawing an average 11.3 million total viewers. "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night" at 8 p.m. posted a 2.1/8 with 6.1 million total viewers, while "NBA Countdown" at 8:30 drew a 3.1/10 and took 7.7 million total viewers. The faceoff between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder at 9 posted a marginal ratings gain over last year's Game 2, posting a 5.8/17 and drawing 13.5 million total viewers.

CBS, which ran repeats throughout the night, took a distant second place in ratings and total viewers with a 1.5/5 and 7 million.

Fox took third place in ratings and fifth in total viewers with a 1.3/4 and 3.1 million total viewers. Both "Take Me Out" and "The Choice" took hits following last week's series premieres (when they weren't facing the NBA Finals). "Take Me Out" at 8 suffered a 15 percent decline in ratings for a 1.1/4 and drew 2.6 million total viewers, while "The Choice" the following hour was down 17 percent with a 1.5/5. It received 3.6 million total viewers.

Univision took fourth place in ratings and fourth in total viewers with an average 1.2/4 and 3.2 million.

NBC drew fifth place in ratings and third in total viewers with a 1.0/3 and 4.6 million. After an "America's Got Talent" repeat at 8, "Saving Hope" the following hour ran flat with last week's premiere for a 0.7/2 and but gained 22 percent in total viewers with 3.9 million. "Rock Center With Brian Williams" at 10 grew 14 percent from last week for a 0.8/2 and took 4 million total viewers.
