Ratings: ‘The Voice’ Hits Low, But Still Tops Night for NBC

“The Voice” and “About a Boy” push NBC to a win in key demo

Despite hitting a series low on Tuesday night, “The Voice” was the top-rated show on Tuesday night, driving NBC to a win in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic on Tuesday night thanks largely to “The Voice” and “About a Boy,” which were the night’s top-rated programs, according to preliminary numbers.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.8 rating/5 share and second in total viewers with 7.3 million. “The Voice” at 8 p.m. was the night’s top-rated show, despite dropping 10 percent  from last week to a 2.7/9 — a series low excluding specials. “The Voice” drew 11 million total viewers. “About a Boy” the following hour ticked up from last week for a 1.9/6 and had 7.2 million total viewers. “Growing Up Fisher” at 9:30 ran steady for a 1.5/4 and had 6 million total viewers. A “Chicago Fire” repeat closed out the night for the network.

Univision was second in ratings with a 1.3/4 and fourth in total viewers with 3.2 million.

CBS, which aired repeats throughout the night, took third place in ratings and first in total viewers with a 1.2/4 and 9.4 million.

ABC was fourth in ratings and total viewers with a 1.1/3 and 3.8 million. “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at 8 p.m. took a 1.8/6 — down 14 percent from last week, when it aired at 9 p.m. — and had 5.7 million total viewers. Following repeats of “The Goldbergs” and “Trophy Wife,” “Celebrity Wife Swap” at 10 inched down to a 0.9/3 and took 3 million total viewers.

Fox came in fifth in ratings and total viewers with a 0.9/3 and 2.1 million. “Glee” at 8 ticked down from last week to a 0.9/3 but up slightly in total viewers with 2.5 million. Following a “New Girl” repeat, “The Mindy Project” at 9:30 drew even with last week in the demo for a 1.0/3 and inched up in total viewers to 2.1 million.

THe CW was sixth in ratings and total viewers with a 0.8/2 and 1.8 million. The network aired “The Originals” at 8 (0.6/2 with 1.4 million total viewers) and “Supernatural” the following hour, which had a 0.9/3 with 2.2 million total viewers.
