Despite a Halloween drop in viewership, "The X Factor" jumped in the ratings with the debut of new hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian, scaring up a win for Fox on Wednesday night, according to preliminary numbers.
Fox took first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with a 2.7 rating/8 share and second in total viewers with 7.4 million total viewers. "The X Factor," which comprised the network's primetime slate, grew 13 percent from last week in the demo and jumped 30 percent in total viewers.
CBS came in second in ratings and first in total viewers with 2.5/8 and 10.9 million. "Survivor" at 8 dropped 14 percent to a 2.4/8 and grabbed 9.8 million total viewers, while "Criminal Minds" the following hour dipped to a 2.9/8 and had 12 million viewers, making it the most-watched program of the night. "CSI" at 10 also ticked down, drawing a 2.3/7 and pulling 10.8 million total viewers.
ABC took third place in ratings and total viewers with a 2.4/7 and 7 million. "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" at 8 jumped 17 percent from last year's airing, grabbing a 2.7/9 and drew 7.9 million total viewers, while the new sitcom "The Neighbors" — just picked up for a full season — dropped 10 percent to a series low of 1.8/6 and took 5.7 million total viewers. "Modern Family" at 9 dropped 16 percent from last week but was still the night's highest-rated program with a 4.1/12 and had 10.4 million total viewers. "Suburgatory" at 9:30 dropped 11 percent for a season low of 2.4/7 and grabbed 6.4 million total viewers, while the freshman drama "Nashville" hit its own low at 10, falling 10 percent to a 1.8/5 and pulling 5.8 million total viewers.
NBC took fourth place in ratings and total viewers with a 1.5/4 and 5.1 million. "30 Rock" at 8 was even with last week's airing of "Animal Practice" in the timeslot, posting a 1.2/4 and 3.6 million total viewers, while "Guys With Kids" at 8:30 was also even with last week with a 1.4/4 and 3.8 million total viewers. "Law & Order: SVU" at 9 dropped 11 percent from last week to a 1.7/5 and drew 6.2 million total viewers, while "Chicago Fire" the following hour slipped 17 percent for a 1.5/4 and had 5.5 million total viewers.
