Ratner to Produce Adaptation of Comic Book ‘Unknowns’

Mark A. Altman, Steve Kriozere and Monica Olsen created the Femme Fatales Comics property

Brett Ratner's Rat Entertainment has acquired the movie rights to the comic book "The Unknowns," the production company has confirmed to TheWrap.

Mark A. Altman, Steve Kriozere and Monica Olsen created the comic, which centers around Alexis Davenport, an ordinary girl who discovers that she was once the highly skilled and deadly leader of a mysterious team known as The Unknowns and sets out to uncover the truth about who erased her memory and why.

I can't help but get a female Jason Bourne vibe from this project with its amnesia theme, and it's possible that  Angelina Jolie's gender reversal on that character in "Salt" helped pave the way for this acquisition.

While there is no director attached to the property, Rat Entertainment's John Cheng will exec produce and oversee the project for the company.

Ratner will produce "The Unknowns," which is published by Femme Fatales Comics. He's currently in pre-production as a producer on New Line's murderous workplace comedy "Horrible Bosses."
