So much for the White House gate crashers: Bravo confirms that it has pulled the plug on "The Real Housewives of D.C."
The series, which featured infamous crasher Michaele Salahi, as well as Mary Schmidt Amons, Lynda Erkiletian, Stacie Turner and Catherine Ommanney, had a promising first season last year. It averaged 1.1 million total viewers to become the second-highest rated first season in the "Real Housewives" franchise.
The show might have fallen victim to competition from its counterparts in other cities — with six other "Housewives" series, including the recently launched "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," it was a crowded field for shrill cat-fighting and back-stabbing,
“We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise," Bravo executive vice president of original programming and development Andy Cohen said. "I wish all our DC wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity."
