Following a season filled with drama, conflict and changing alliances (would we expect anything less?), the cast members of “The Real Housewives of New York City” reunited on Tuesday night by Bravo host Andy Cohen for the first of a three-part reunion.
After being told by her co-stars that none of them were excited about her coming back, Bethenny Frankel was her usual blunt self as she threatened, “I know where the bodies are buried.” Meanwhile, revelations of bisexuality, boob jobs, extramarital affairs and even a raunchy hookup in a bathroom were spilled among the women.
“LuAnn made a toast to bringing you down,” Heather Thomson told Bethenny regarding her return to the show.
“They had axes to grind with you,” Carole Radziwill added.
Frankel went on to reveal a rare emotional side when talking about her ongoing divorce from estranged husband, Jason Hoppy. “When you bring someone into fame … they see the shiny object and want the shiny object … then when they can’t get it, they don’t want you to have it,” she said, describing it as the “most excruciating thing” she’s ever been through.
“There are so many head games being played,” Radziwill said, referring to Frankel’s custody battle with Hoppy over their 4-year-old daughter.
There’s been no love lost between Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and Radziwill throughout Season 7, but the situation reached boiling point when they almost went from bitchy comments to blows when de Lesseps, 50, accused Radziwill, 51, of stealing her niece’s one-time boyfriend, Adam Kenworthy.
The countess and the princess had addressed the sticky dating situation on the show earlier in the season, with de Lesseps being none-too-pleased about Carole’s romance with her hunky chef. “I invited him to my house to cook and you guys hook up,” she told her.
“He wasn’t dating your niece … they had been broken up for a full year,” Radziwill claimed on Tuesday’s reunion, before telling her: “You pick up men and f–k them in the bathroom … that’s what you do.”
She then reminded Luan that she slept with a married man during their rambunctious trip to Turks and Caicos. “He was 21,” she said, sparking a furious reaction.
Carole and Sonja Morgan also butted heads — verbally, not physically, thankfully — when the subject of John F. Kennedy Jr. came up and Sonja boasted that she used to party with him. Carole demanded that Sonja never talk about him again. She claimed no one who was close to JFK’s son ever called him “John John” and he was never a big partier.
Of course, Bethenny had to jump in, asking Morgan: “Do you believe your own bullish-t?”
