‘Real Housewives’: Real Hot

The Hot-lanta edition of Bravo’s reality franchise wraps up second season with record ratings.

They don’t call it "Hot"-lanta for nothin’.

Bravo’s "Real Housewives of Altanta" wrapped up its second season last week with eye-popping triple-digit Nielsen ratings increases over its first cycle. What’s more, "RHOA" soared past New York, New Jersey and Orange County to rank as the highest-rated installment in the franchise’s history.

Some specifics:

–Thursday’s season finale averaged just under 3 million viewers, 2.047 of them adults 18-49. That’s up 35 percent and 22 percent, respectively, over last year’s first season finale. The finale was the No. 1 show in the 10 p.m. time period among adults 18-49 and women 18-49, beating high-profile competition such as Lifetime’s "Project Runway."

–Overall, season two of "RHOA" finished with an average audience of 2.84 million, of which 1.99 million were between 18 and 49. Season-to-season increase: 116 percent and 101 percent, respectively.

–"RHOA" ended its season ahead of Lifetime’s "Project Runway" in adults 18-49. "Runway" still leads in total viewers and also has several more weeks of original broadcasts.
