‘Real World’ Offshoot ‘The Challenge’ Renewed for Season 25

New season begins production this fall in an undisclosed location

MTV’s “The Challenge” has managed the feat of gaining another season.

The reality series, which began life as  “Road Rules: All Stars” before morphing into “Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” has been given a 25th season.

The new season, which will air next year, begins production this fall in “an undisclosed location,” according to MTV.

The most recent installment of the series, “The Challenge: Rivals II,” drew 2.2 million total viewers with its Sept. 25 finale, with a 2.0 rating in the network’s core 12-34 demographic.

Overall for the most recent season, the Bunim/Murray-produced series was up 27 percent from its previous season.
