The pilot, which is being written by John Glenn and is executive produced by Charlize Theron, among others, recasts the legendary family feud in contemporary times, with the wealthy Hatfields facing off against the working-class McCoys. De Mornay and Westrate join a cast that already includes Virginia Madsen, Jesse Lee Soffer and Patrick John Flueger.

The project, which is produced by ABC Studios, is shaping up to be one of the more anticipated endeavors of the current pilot crop. At the very least, there's an immense public interest in the subject matter, judging from last year's "Hatfields & McCoys" miniseries, which drew phenomenal ratings for the History Channel. (History is also developing a reality show on the topic.)
