‘Red Dawn’ Remake Trailer: New Villains, Same Jingoism (Video)

The Wolverines take on the North Koreans this time  in new remake of 1984's "Red Dawn"

When the original "Red Dawn" was released in 1984, America's bogeyman of choice was Russia. But times change, Bush stared into Putin's soul and deemed it good, and movie remakes need new villains to attract ticket-buyers.

The official trailer for MGM's revamp of "Red Dawn" hit the Internet on Friday, and this time out it's the North Koreans who stir guerilla group the Wolverines into gloriously violent action.

Fear not, though, patriots; while the new "Red Dawn" — which stars Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas and Josh Hutcherson — may have switched bad guys, it still seems to have retained the red-blooded jingoism of the original.

The new "Red Dawn" hits theaters on Nov. 21 — just in time for Thanksgiving, which as everyone knows is easily one of the five most American holidays ever. Check out an advance look in the video.
