Reese Witherspoon to Star in ‘Who Invited Her?’ for DreamWorks

Sascha Rothchild is writing the movie — a different take on a bachelor party

Reese Witherspoon is set to produce and star in a comedy about a woman who tags along on a man's bachelor party weekend, DreamWorks announced Tuesday.

Sascha Rothchild, who penned "How to Get Divorced by 30," is writing "Who Invited Her?"

Witherspoon won the best actress for the 2005 "Walk the Line," but her movies have been uneven lately. Last year's "How Do You Know" grossed only $37.1 million worldwide on a budget estimated at $120 million, and was recently cited as a drag on Sony's fiscal year earnings.

"Water for Elephants,"  a movie with a much lower budget, has grossed almost as much so far.

Witherspoon is also producing "This Means War," with Tom Hardy, Chris Pine and Chelsea Handler. Witherspoon also stars in the 20th Century Fox movie, which McG is directing.

Gary Foster, who produced "The Soloist" and "Ghost Rider," among others, also will produce, as will Russ Krasnoff.

Variety first reported the news.
