David Shane has been named executive vice president of corporate communications at Relativity Media, where he'll report directly to CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and president Tucker Tooley.
Shane will be responsible for developing and directing Relativity's communication strategy, overseeing media relations and serving as a communications advisor to the executive team. He will also partner with the company’s various divisions including film, television, sports, music, digital, home entertainment and international.
“We are thrilled to have such a talented communicator as David join our leadership team,” said Kavanaugh. “He’s been a trusted advisor to the company and his creativity and strategic mindset will serve us well as Relativity continues to grow.”
Prior to joining Relativity, Shane was executive VP at Hiltzik Strategies, a strategic communications consulting firm. Shane has also run global external communications for Hewlett-Packard and was the senior VP for corporate communications at ICM during the agency’s recapitalization. He has also held senior communications roles at Comcast and is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
