‘Rizzoli & Isles,’ ‘Major Crimes,’ ‘Perception’ Renewed by TNT

Renewals follow a green-light for fourth season of 'Falling Skies'

TNT has renewed its drama "Rizzoli & Isles" for a fifth season, the network said Thursday, adding that it's given the green light for third seasons of "Major Crimes" and "Perception."

The renewals follow the previous re-up for "Falling Skies," which stars Noah Wyle and will go forward with a fourth season.

All three series have received 15-episode orders for the new seasons, which are slated to premiere in summer 2014.

"Rizzoli & Isles," which stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander as a female crime-fighting duo in Boston, has averaged 8.4 million total viewers in live-plus-7-day delivery this summer, a 6 percent increase over last season. "Major Crimes" has averaged more than 6.7 million total viewers, while "Perception" has averaged 5.6 million.

"With the renewals of 'Rizzoli & Isles,' 'Major Crimes,' 'Falling Skies' and 'Perception,' TNT has built an incredibly strong arsenal of scripted series," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. "And it's only going to get stronger with the addition of 'Mob City' and the return of 'Dallas' this winter, not to mention the debuts of 'The Last Ship' and 'Legends' next summer."
