‘Rizzoli & Isles’ Shuts Down Production After Actor’s Suicide

The TNT police drama “Rizzoli & Isles” has shut down production following the suicide of star Lee Thompson Young, an individual with knowledge of the production told TheWrap on Monday.

It is not clear how long the series’ production will be suspended.

Young’s body was found at his apartment by Los Angeles Police Department officers on Monday morning.

“Rizzoli & Isles,” which also stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander, was recently renewed for a fifth season.

Young’s manager confirmed that the 29-year-old actor — who also starred in Disney Channel’s “The Famous Jett Jackson” — had killed himself in a statement on Monday.

“It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning,” said longtime manager Jonathan Baruch. “Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this difficult time.”

Young played Det. Barry Frost on the series.
