Rob Lowe to Exit ABC’s ‘Brothers & Sisters’

He reportedly felt underutilized on the drama

Actor Rob Lowe will leave ABC’s "Brothers & Sisters" later this season, according to his representatives.

Lowe reportedly felt he didn’t have enough to do on the Sunday night drama and asked to be let out of his contract.

Although the network granted Lowe’s request, ABC’s Steve McPherson said: "We would like to keep Rob at ABC; we feel he should be anchoring his own franchise. We are in talks now.”

Lowe previously left NBC drama "The West Wing" in the middle of the hit series’ run.

Lowe appeared on NBC’s "The Tonight Show" last night, joking with host Conan O’Brien about their shared experience exiting NBC shows, saying "nobody will even remember" "Tonight" a few years from now, "just like they don’t remember ‘The West Wing.’" Watch the clip:
